Pennsylvania’s online casino market generated $316.8 million in gross gaming revenue in September 2026, maintaining double-digit annual growth despite a slowdown from August’s performance. The results reinforce the importance of internet gaming to the state’s gambling industry as operators compete for customers across a mature regulated market.

Figures published on October 20 show that September’s total increased 10.5% from approximately $286.7 million a year earlier. However, revenue fell 3.6% compared with August, when online casinos generated approximately $328.6 million.

The latest figures place September among Pennsylvania’s strongest online casino months of 2026. They also show that annual growth remains positive even as monthly results fluctuate.

Pennsylvania online casino revenue tops $316 million

Pennsylvania online casino revenue reached $316,769,656 in September, according to figures reported from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB). The total was the fourth-highest monthly result recorded during 2026 at the time of reporting.

The difference between annual and monthly comparisons is important. Revenue rose by $30 million compared with September 2025, but declined by nearly $11.9 million from August’s result.

These movements suggest that the market continues to generate more revenue than it did a year ago, even without setting a new monthly high. A single month’s decline does not necessarily indicate a reversal in the broader growth trend.

The reported gross revenue figure also differs from adjusted gross revenue (AGR), the measure that deducts promotional spending. Pennsylvania’s adjusted online casino revenue for September stood at approximately $249.3 million, meaning gross and adjusted figures should not be treated as interchangeable.

That distinction matters when assessing operator performance and the tax contribution associated with internet gaming. Promotional spending can influence the gap between the amount generated by gambling activity and the adjusted figure used in state reporting.

Penn National and Valley Forge lead licensee revenue

Penn National and Valley Forge remained the two largest licensees by September gross online casino revenue. Their combined performance accounted for a substantial share of the statewide total.

Penn National generated $120.7 million, representing an increase of 10.5% compared with September 2025. Valley Forge followed with $96.3 million, up 13.5% year over year.

The Rivers Philadelphia ranked third at approximately $46.6 million, an increase of 7.9%. Caesars Interactive recorded $17.2 million, up 19.9%, while Golden Nugget generated $8.7 million, a marginal increase of 0.8%.

Bally’s Pennsylvania posted one of the strongest annual increases among the larger reported licensees. Its revenue climbed 44.6% to approximately $7 million. Presque Isle also advanced, rising 18.9% to $5.3 million.

Not every licensee shared in the growth. Parx recorded approximately $7.3 million, down 3.4% from the previous year. Wind Creek fell 26.5% to about $1.8 million.

Live! Philadelphia recorded a particularly sharp percentage increase, with revenue reaching approximately $2.6 million compared with nearly $1.2 million a year earlier. Although the percentage gain was substantial, its absolute revenue remained considerably below the totals recorded by the market leaders.

The results are reported by licensee rather than by every individual online casino brand. As multiple brands can operate under a single licensee, the figures should not be interpreted as a complete ranking of individual gambling websites.

Year-to-date growth keeps the market on track

September’s results added to an extended period of strong performance. During the first nine months of 2026, Pennsylvania online casinos generated approximately $2.84 billion in gross revenue, compared with $2.52 billion over the same period in 2025.

That represents year-to-date growth of 12.6%, equivalent to an increase of roughly $319 million.

The monthly figures show that revenue exceeded $300 million in every month from January through September. March produced approximately $330.8 million, while August followed with $328.6 million. September’s $316.8 million result remained above the average monthly level for the period.

Based on the nine-month total, Pennsylvania averaged approximately $315.7 million in gross online casino revenue each month. Maintaining that pace through December would put the full-year total near $3.79 billion.

This is a projection rather than a confirmed outcome. Actual results will depend on performance during the remaining months, and monthly revenue can change with customer activity, promotional strategies and other market conditions.

Nevertheless, the year-to-date comparison indicates that the sector entered the final quarter with a larger revenue base than it had in 2025.

Tax contributions highlight iGaming's importance

Online casino activity also generates significant revenue for public finances. September’s adjusted internet gaming revenue was approximately $249.3 million, with the reported tax contribution from iGaming reaching about $74.4 million.

The distinction between gross revenue, adjusted revenue and taxes is essential when evaluating the industry’s economic impact. Gross revenue describes the reported amount before promotional deductions, while adjusted revenue accounts for promotional spending. Tax receipts reflect the applicable tax treatment rather than the gross total alone.

Pennsylvania’s broader gambling sector generated more than $555 million in combined gaming revenue in September, including retail casino gaming, sports wagering, internet gaming, fantasy contests and video gaming terminals. The PGCB reported statewide gaming revenue of $555,036,870, up 4.07% from September 2025.

Online casino gaming therefore remained a major component of the state’s regulated gambling market. Its sustained growth also provides a useful measure of how digital gambling contributes to an industry that includes traditional casino floors and other betting products.

The figures do not, on their own, establish whether growth came from more customers, higher spending by existing players or changes in the mix of games offered. Those conclusions would require additional evidence.

Pennsylvania's online casino market heads into the final quarter

September’s performance presents a mixed monthly picture but a positive annual trend. Revenue eased from August’s level, yet the statewide total remained more than 10% higher than a year earlier, and cumulative revenue through September rose 12.6%.

The leading licensees continued to account for most online casino revenue, while several smaller licensees reported strong percentage growth. Others recorded declines, highlighting differences in performance across the market.

With three months remaining in 2026, Pennsylvania’s online casino sector is positioned to exceed its 2025 total if the current pace broadly continues. The estimated full-year figure of approximately $3.79 billion provides a benchmark, not a guarantee.

The next monthly reports will show whether the market can sustain its annual growth rate and how closely the final quarter tracks the average established during the first nine months.
