Konami's gaming business delivered stronger financial results in the first half of its fiscal year, supported by increased machine sales, demand from casino openings and wider adoption of its casino management technology. The company also reported a significant expansion in the number of slot machines connected to its SYNKROS platform.

For the six months ended 30 September 2026, Konami's Gaming & Systems segment generated revenue of approximately ¥25.11 billion (US159million),representinga41.3%increasefromthecorrespondingperiodayearearlier.Businessprofitclimbed154.4%toapproximately¥2.41billion(US15.3 million).

The results highlight improving performance across Konami's land-based gaming operations as casino operators continue investing in gaming equipment and technology.

Konami Gaming & Systems revenue rises 41.3%

The segment's revenue growth outpaced its increase in sales, while business profit more than doubled year on year. Business profit reached approximately ¥2.41 billion, compared with about ¥949 million in the previous-year period.

The stronger performance reflects a combination of gaming machine sales and technology adoption. Konami identified new casino openings and replacement demand at existing properties as factors supporting additional opportunities to place its machines.

For suppliers, these market conditions can create opportunities to secure new installations while serving established operators upgrading older equipment. The pace of replacement spending and the timing of new property openings will remain important factors in determining future sales.

Konami's gaming portfolio includes slot machines and associated content designed for casino floors. Its Solstice 49C cabinet has attracted positive market feedback, according to the company, while its BOMBERMAN-themed games have continued performing in North America.

In Australia, Dragon Rush and Bull Rush Stampede have also maintained market traction. The performance of individual cabinets and game titles can help suppliers compete for floor space as operators assess which products best fit their properties and customer bases.

SYNKROS connects more than 150,000 slots

Alongside its hardware business, Konami reported a new milestone for SYNKROS, its casino management system. More than 150,000 slot machines are now connected to the platform globally.

The system supports casino operations by bringing together information from connected areas of a property. Its capabilities include player tracking, loyalty and marketing functions, promotional tools, slot operations and reporting.

For casino operators, integrated systems can help teams coordinate floor activity, manage player engagement and use operational data to inform business decisions. The technology also provides a foundation for connecting different functions within a casino rather than managing each through separate systems.

SYNKROS adoption has extended beyond land-based casino properties to cruise ships operated by Carnival Corporation. This broadens the system's reach across different operating environments, where gaming technology must support the needs of both casino teams and the wider hospitality business.

The 150,000-machine milestone indicates the scale of the platform's installed network. However, the number of connected machines alone does not establish how much revenue the system generates or its share of the overall casino management market.

Konami has said it intends to continue developing SYNKROS features and expanding installations at casinos and cruise ships. Its stated priorities include using new technology to improve the system and strengthen its competitive position.

Casino openings support equipment demand

Konami described conditions in North America and Australia, two important markets for its gaming operations, as stable during the reporting period.

New properties create opportunities for suppliers to secure initial equipment orders, while established casinos may purchase replacement machines as they refresh their gaming floors. Both channels can support demand, although the timing and size of individual projects can affect quarterly and half-year comparisons.

The results also show why equipment performance and management technology matter together. Slot machines provide the gaming content and hardware used on casino floors, while management systems support player services and operational functions.

For operators, investment decisions can involve more than the purchase price of a machine. Game performance, reliability, player preferences, loyalty integration and the ability to manage a property efficiently may all influence procurement choices.

Konami's challenge will be to maintain demand for its gaming products while continuing to expand its technology business in a market where suppliers regularly introduce new cabinets, games and system features.

The company has acknowledged that competition requires ongoing improvements in product appeal. It is continuing development across new slot machines, gaming content and casino management functions.

Group results show broader growth

Konami's gaming division formed part of a much larger group-wide performance improvement during the same six-month period.

Consolidated revenue increased 37.0% year on year to approximately ¥307.98 billion (US1.95billion).Profitattributabletoownersoftheparentrose70.5%toapproximately¥79.24billion(US501 million).

The company attributed its wider growth to contributions from multiple business segments, including Digital Entertainment, Arcade Games and Sports.

These consolidated figures provide broader context but should not be confused with the performance of the gaming division alone. Gaming & Systems revenue of approximately ¥25.11 billion represented only one part of the group's total business.

Konami also revised its full-year consolidated outlook following its stronger first-half performance. The company raised its revenue forecast for the financial year ending 31 March 2027 to ¥583 billion and increased its forecast for profit attributable to owners of the parent to ¥135 billion.

The updated group outlook reflects expectations across its wider portfolio and does not, by itself, guarantee that the gaming division will maintain the same rate of profit growth.

Competition and execution remain key

The next stage of growth will depend on Konami's ability to sustain demand for its machines and convert SYNKROS adoption into further installations.

Casino openings and replacement cycles can provide opportunities, but equipment spending remains sensitive to operators' investment plans and competitive conditions. Suppliers must also keep their games and technology relevant as customer expectations evolve.

For SYNKROS, expanding into additional casinos and cruise ship operations offers another avenue for growth. Continued development of system functions may help Konami respond to operator requirements, although future adoption will depend on individual purchasing decisions.

The latest results nevertheless demonstrate a stronger first-half contribution from Konami's gaming operations. Revenue increased by more than two-fifths, segment business profit rose by more than 150%, and the company's casino management platform surpassed 150,000 connected slot machines.

Together, these developments underline the importance of both equipment sales and casino technology to Konami's gaming business as it enters the second half of its fiscal year.
