Jeju Dream Tower casino revenue climbed to a record KRW62.53 billion (US$46.6 million) in October, as stronger table-game activity and a recovery in the casino’s hold rate lifted earnings despite little change in monthly visitation.

The result marked a 24.1% increase from October 2025 and a 115.4% jump from September 2026. The performance also established a new monthly high for the casino, operated by Lotte Tour Development at its integrated resort on South Korea’s Jeju Island.

October’s figures highlight how changes in gaming volume and hold rates can significantly affect casino revenue, even when visitor numbers remain relatively stable.

Jeju Dream Tower casino revenue sets new record

The casino generated KRW62.53 billion in net revenue during October, surpassing its previous monthly performance. Its recovery followed a comparatively weak September, when net casino revenue stood at approximately KRW29 billion.

The October result was not accompanied by a similar increase in customer traffic. The property welcomed 66,254 casino visits, compared with 66,393 in September. The difference represents a marginal monthly decline rather than a meaningful expansion in visitation.

Instead, the strongest improvement came from table-game activity and the proportion of wagers retained by the casino.

Net table revenue reached KRW60.35 billion (US$45 million), rising 134.6% from September and 24.9% year-on-year. This category accounted for the entire month-on-month increase in casino revenue, more than compensating for weaker machine-game earnings.

The figures demonstrate the importance of separating customer volume from gaming yield when assessing a casino's monthly performance. Stable visitation can coincide with sharply different revenue outcomes when betting activity and hold rates change.

Table drop and hold rate support the recovery

Table drop, which measures the money exchanged for chips at gaming tables, reached KRW327.42 billion (US$244.1 million) in October. That was 37.7% higher than September and 27.5% above the corresponding month last year.

The increase indicates that more money flowed through the resort’s table games. However, table drop should not be confused with revenue: it measures gaming activity rather than the amount ultimately retained by the casino.

The hold rate provides another important measure of performance. Jeju Dream Tower’s net table hold recovered to 18.4% in October, up from 10.8% in September. The improvement helped convert the increased table-game volume into substantially higher revenue.

The year-on-year comparison presents a more nuanced picture. October’s hold rate remained slightly below the 18.8% recorded a year earlier, even as table drop increased. This suggests that the annual revenue improvement was supported primarily by greater table-game volume rather than a higher hold rate.

For casino operators, these distinctions matter because hold rates can fluctuate between reporting periods. A stronger monthly result does not necessarily mean that every underlying performance indicator has improved.

Machine revenue falls from September

Machine games contributed a smaller share of the casino’s October earnings and moved in the opposite direction from table games on a monthly basis.

Net machine revenue totalled KRW2.17 billion (US$1.6 million), down 34.3% from September. Nevertheless, the figure was 5.5% higher than in October 2025.

The contrasting results show that the casino’s record month did not represent uniform growth across its gaming operations. Table games drove the monthly recovery, while machine revenue declined from the preceding month.

The year-on-year gains in both categories provide a different perspective. Table revenue and machine revenue each exceeded their October 2025 levels, indicating that the annual improvement extended beyond the increase in table drop alone.

Still, the scale of the table-game contribution was decisive. Its revenue growth was sufficient to offset the monthly reduction in machine earnings and lift the casino to a new record.

Ten-month casino revenue maintains growth

Jeju Dream Tower’s cumulative casino net revenue reached KRW455.56 billion (US$339.6 million) between January and October 2026, an increase of 18.5% from the same period last year.

Table revenue grew 18% over the ten-month period, while machine revenue increased 30.7%. The figures indicate that both gaming categories contributed to year-to-date growth, although their monthly performances differed in October.

Cumulative table drop reached KRW2.29 trillion (approximately US$1.7 billion), up 12.3% year-on-year. The increase in drop, alongside higher cumulative casino revenue, points to stronger overall table-game activity during the first ten months.

Revenue figures require careful interpretation, however. The reported casino net revenue is calculated after deductions from gross gaming revenue, including commissions paid to agents. It therefore differs from gross gaming revenue and should not be treated as an identical measure.

The distinction is relevant when comparing results across operators or markets, particularly where reporting methods and deductions may vary.

Hotel performance provides a mixed picture

The resort’s hotel operations delivered a different result from the casino in October. Hotel revenue reached KRW6.71 billion (US$5 million), increasing 6.7% from September but falling 9.2% year-on-year.

For the first ten months of 2026, hotel revenue was reported to be 7.4% higher than in the corresponding period last year. This longer-term increase contrasts with October’s annual decline and suggests that the monthly result should be considered within the wider operating period.

The hotel and casino results also illustrate why an integrated resort’s performance cannot be assessed through a single indicator. Casino revenue reached a record, but the hotel business recorded a year-on-year reduction in October.

For the wider Jeju tourism market, continued growth in casino activity will be important to monitor alongside accommodation demand and visitor trends. The October figures establish a strong revenue benchmark, but they do not by themselves demonstrate sustained growth in customer numbers.

What the October record means for Jeju

Jeju Dream Tower’s record casino revenue underscores the influence of table-game volume and hold-rate movements on short-term results. Higher table drop and a rebound in hold lifted earnings sharply from September, while visitation remained close to its previous month's level.

The 18.5% increase in casino net revenue for January through October provides evidence of broader year-to-date growth beyond the latest monthly record. Gains in both table and machine revenue over that period also offer a more balanced view of the casino’s performance.

The next reporting periods will help establish whether October’s stronger table activity can be sustained and how revenue develops as gaming volumes and hold rates fluctuate.

For now, Jeju Dream Tower has delivered a record monthly casino result, with table games firmly at the centre of its October performance.
