G2E 2026 opens as AI and prediction markets take center stage

The Global Gaming Expo (G2E) 2026 has opened its exhibition floor in Las Vegas, bringing prediction markets, artificial intelligence and emerging gaming technologies into sharper focus as the global gaming industry gathers for its annual trade event.
G2E 2026 is running at The Venetian Expo through October 1, with more than 25,000 gaming professionals and more than 400 exhibitors expected to participate. The event brings together commercial and tribal casino operators, online gaming companies, sportsbooks, technology suppliers and other businesses serving the regulated gaming sector.
The expo is presented by the American Gaming Association and organized by RX. According to the event's official figures, attendees are expected from more than 120 countries, regions and territories, while the broader program includes more than 100 education sessions.
G2E 2026 puts prediction markets under the spotlight
One of the defining discussions at G2E 2026 is the expanding role of prediction markets in the US sports-betting environment.
The issue has become particularly prominent in Nevada, where regulators have challenged prediction-market operators over whether their activities amount to sports betting that should fall under the state's existing gaming framework.
Yogonet reported that Kalshi, one of the largest prediction-market operators in the United States, is not exhibiting at G2E this year. However, the company's business model and the wider regulatory dispute are expected to remain important topics during the event.
G2E's Main Stage programming includes a session titled “The Power of Unity: Confronting the Prediction Markets Challenge.” The session brings together representatives from tribal gaming, organized labor, government and the commercial gaming industry to discuss jurisdiction, regulatory authority and the implications of prediction markets for established gaming frameworks.
The discussion reflects a broader industry question: whether prediction markets should operate within existing sports-betting structures or under a different regulatory model.
For gaming operators and suppliers, the issue extends beyond a single market. The emergence of prediction markets is raising questions about how sports wagering is defined, which regulators have jurisdiction and how established gaming businesses may compete with new forms of event-based wagering.
AI expands beyond the casino floor
Artificial intelligence is another central theme at G2E 2026, with the technology increasingly being presented as an operational tool rather than simply a new gaming feature.
The event's Business Solutions & Tech Zone is dedicated to technologies including AI, data analytics, cybersecurity, payments, customer relationship management and marketing technology. The official G2E program positions these solutions as tools for integrated resorts seeking greater operational efficiency, personalization and revenue opportunities.
The technology focus also illustrates how casino businesses are increasingly connecting traditionally separate functions.
G2E's technology program includes CRM and loyalty platforms, AI and data analytics, cybersecurity and compliance systems, enterprise software, payments and fintech, as well as workforce and operational technologies.
Education sessions are similarly examining practical applications of AI. Featured programming includes discussions on the state of AI in gaming, AI-enabled automation for iGaming teams and the governance and operational challenges associated with deploying new technologies.
This broader approach places technology closer to the core of casino and integrated-resort operations, rather than limiting innovation to gaming machines or digital wagering products.
Major gaming executives join G2E program
The G2E 2026 Main Stage is also bringing together senior executives from some of the largest US casino companies.
Tuesday's program includes MGM Resorts International President and CEO Bill Hornbuckle, Caesars Entertainment CEO Tom Reeg and Wynn Resorts CEO Craig Billings in a discussion covering the gaming industry's current environment, Las Vegas and international expansion, integrated resorts, technology and tourism.
BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt is also scheduled to appear alongside hockey Hall of Famer Wayne Gretzky for a discussion examining sports betting, digital innovation and the growing connection between professional sports and gaming.
The programming places technology and sports betting alongside traditional casino operations, reflecting the increasingly interconnected nature of the gaming ecosystem.
G2E broadens its technology and innovation footprint
Beyond prediction markets and AI, G2E 2026 is expanding the areas through which companies can present new products and services.
The New Exhibitor Zone provides dedicated space for first- and second-time exhibitors, while the iGaming Hub focuses on online gaming developments and industry networking. The event is also continuing its Networking Lounge and Media Zone.
The official G2E program describes the Business Solutions & Tech Zone as an effort to connect gaming businesses with technologies addressing the operational complexity of modern integrated resorts, including digital transformation, cybersecurity, analytics and customer experience.
The event's exhibitor base also demonstrates the breadth of the current gaming technology market. Alongside traditional casino suppliers, G2E's official exhibitor directory includes companies presenting sportsbook, casino, AI, payments and prediction-market technologies.
For the global gaming sector, G2E 2026 therefore arrives at a point where the boundaries between casino gaming, sports betting, online gaming and broader technology services are becoming increasingly interconnected.
With prediction markets generating regulatory debate and AI moving into areas such as customer engagement, cybersecurity, analytics and business operations, the Las Vegas expo is providing a platform for the industry to examine how those changes could influence the next phase of gaming.
