Hong Kong Jockey Club appoints Mr Casper Stylsvig as Executive Director Sports Business

The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) announced today (10 October) the appointment of Mr Casper Stylsvig as Executive Director, Sports Business (EDSB) with effect from 15 January 2026.

Mr Stylsvig will be a member of the Board of Management and report directly to the Club’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges.

As EDSB, Mr Stylsvig will oversee the Club's sports business portfolio and drive end-to-end commercial growth across horse racing, football, lottery and emerging sporting opportunities.

Mr Stylsvig’s focus is to grow the Club's non-wagering and wagering related income streams. His responsibilities include driving the commercialisation of the Club's current assets as well as creating new income streams, especially from sponsorships and partnerships. He will be responsible for strategic marketing to attract and retain different customer segments. He will lead the multi-billion-dollar Racecourse Master Plan and he will spearhead new ventures, including global growth opportunities. In addition, he will manage the sports wagering portfolio to channel wagering demand for community benefit.  Mr Stylsvig will play a key role in developing Hong Kong racing as a global sports brand and in transforming the Club’s sports business. He will collaborate closely with other members of the Board of Management to deliver our next phase of growth.

Mr Stylsvig is an accomplished sports executive, with extensive experience in sports and entertainment and proven international leadership capabilities developed at some of the world's most prestigious football clubs. Most recently he was the Chief Revenue Officer at Chelsea FC, where he successfully restructured the club’s commercial operations, launched a comprehensive five-year strategic plan, and delivered significant revenue growth across multiple business areas.

In previous senior leadership roles at FC Barcelona, Manchester United, Fulham FC and AC Milan, Mr Stylsvig secured landmark partnerships, spearheaded digital transformation initiatives, and led commercial turnarounds that strengthened these clubs as innovative global brands. He has a track record of driving sustainable growth while enhancing fan and customer engagement, and he will bring an innovative, progressive and growth-orientated approach to the new role.

Mr Stylsvig said: “It’s an incredible honour to join The Hong Kong Jockey Club at such an exciting time in its evolution. The Club stands among the world’s most respected sports organisations, combining commercial excellence with a deep social purpose. This role represents a natural progressive next step in my career — bringing together best practices from global football to help shape the future of a truly unique, multi-sport business. I’m looking forward to working with Winfried and the team to drive innovation, expand our international footprint, and create world-class experiences for customers and fans in Hong Kong and beyond.”

Mr Stylsvig holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Esade Business School Barcelona and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Hertfordshire.
