A bettor from Cebu has claimed a ₱20.9 million Mega Lotto 6/45 jackpot, with the winning ticket matching all six numbers from the July 24 draw.
A bettor from Cebu has claimed a ₱20,899,725.81 Mega Lotto 6/45 jackpot (approximately US$338,400), becoming the latest Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) millionaire after correctly matching all six numbers drawn on July 24, 2026.
The winner claimed the prize on August 11 at the PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong City, according to a PCSO announcement.
Rather than immediately spending the windfall, the winner said she plans to use part of the prize to start a business, with the goal of providing greater financial security for her family.
Cebu bettor matches all six Mega Lotto numbers
The winning ticket matched the combination: 14 - 20 - 19 - 31 - 02 - 11
The six numbers were drawn during the July 24, 2026 Mega Lotto 6/45 draw, with the jackpot reaching ₱20,899,725.81 and having one winner from Cebu. The PCSO describes Mega Lotto 6/45 as one of its major lotto games, with draws held three times a week. Its official lottery schedule lists Mega Lotto draws on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9 p.m. (Source: PCSO)
The jackpot is awarded to players who correctly match all six drawn numbers. When there is no jackpot winner, the prize carries over to a subsequent draw.
Winner says family birthdays inspired her numbers
According to the PCSO account of the win, the Cebuana bettor had been playing Mega Lotto since her college years. She reportedly selected numbers based on the birthdays of people she considers important in her life. The approach eventually produced a winning combination worth more than ₱20.8 million.
Her story illustrates one of the common ways lottery players choose their numbers, although personal number-selection methods do not change the mathematical odds of a particular combination being drawn. For a 6/45 lottery, every six-number combination has the same probability of being selected in a fair draw.
Cebuana bettor plans to put jackpot toward a business
The newly won prize will not simply go toward a luxury purchase, according to the winner. She told PCSO that she plans to start a business using part of her winnings, with the intention of creating greater financial stability for her family.
The decision gives the latest Mega Lotto jackpot story a practical angle beyond the size of the prize itself, as the winner intends to use the windfall toward a longer-term source of income.
When and where was the Mega Lotto jackpot claimed?
The winner collected the jackpot on August 11, 2026, at the PCSO Main Office along Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City. She was accompanied by her husband when she claimed the prize. The claim came more than two weeks after the July 24 draw, when the winning combination was selected. PCSO advises jackpot winners to sign the back of their winning ticket immediately and claim their prize within one year from the draw date.
Mega Lotto jackpot winnings are subject to tax
The ₱20,899,725.81 jackpot is also subject to the applicable tax rules.
Under the TRAIN Law, Philippine lottery winnings exceeding ₱10,000 are subject to a 20% final tax, as noted in the PCSO's announcement about the winner. This means the amount announced as the jackpot is not necessarily the same as the amount ultimately received after the applicable tax deduction. The winner's reported plan to use part of the remaining proceeds for a business therefore comes after accounting for the required tax on the prize.
Mega Lotto continues to produce jackpot winners across the Philippines
The Cebu win was one of several major PCSO jackpot results recorded around the same period. PCSO's 2026 jackpot records show that Mega Lotto 6/45 also produced winners earlier in July, including a ₱97.97 million jackpot won in South Cotabato on July 3 and a ₱15 million jackpot won in Camarines Sur on July 8. What happens after a Mega Lotto jackpot win?
For jackpot winners, claiming the prize is only the first step in managing a substantial lottery windfall.
PCSO requires winners to properly secure and sign their tickets before claiming their prizes. Jackpot winners also have a one-year period from the relevant draw date to make their claim. For the Cebuana bettor, the immediate plan is already clear: put part of the winnings toward a business rather than treating the jackpot solely as short-term spending money.
A New Plan for the ₱20.9 Million Windfall
The Cebu bettor's Mega Lotto win turned a ₱20.9 million jackpot into an opportunity to pursue a longer-term financial goal.
After matching 14-20-19-31-02-11 in the July 24 draw, she claimed her prize on August 11 and said she intends to use part of the money to establish a business for her family's future.
The win also serves as a reminder that lottery outcomes are based on chance: numbers associated with birthdays or other personal patterns may be meaningful to individual players, but they do not provide a mathematical advantage in a random draw.
